YOGA THERAPY

Yoga Therapy sessions are available for individuals with specific health issues such as chronic pain syndrome, fibromyalgia, back/neck pain, cancer, hypertension and asthma. I have studied Yoga Therapy at the Vivekananda Kendra Research Foundation in Bangalore, India, where there has been extensive research done on the positive effects of Yoga on these and many other diseases. Yoga is a healing science that evolved 5,000 years ago in India. It is my hope that individuals with stress-related ailments will seek alternative medicine such as yoga, acupuncture and massage to complement their medical treatments.

A typical Yoga Therapy session includes completing a health release form and reviewing your medical history. Each session focuses on a specific breathing technique, stretching/postures appropriate for your medical condition and education on the benefits of body awareness, proper postural aligment, breathing and relaxation. In a series of Yoga Therapy sessions, you will learn the basics for building a solid Yoga practice customized for you along with written handouts for you to refer to.
